The Cooley's Anemia Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, and America's Vet Dogs® are some of the major charities supported by the Order Sons of Italy in America.

The
Cooley's Anemia Foundation is dedicated to serving children and young adults afflicted with the genetic blood disease Thalassemia, most notably the major form of this genetic blood disease, Cooley’s Anemia/Thalassemia Major, a disease affecting many of Mediterranean descent. The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism was established by NFL quarterback Doug Flutie and his wife, Laurie, in honor of their son, Doug, Jr. who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Their primary objective is to provide families with a place to turn when they are in need of support and autism resources. For additional information on the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, visit www.flutiefoundation.org/.

Gift of Sight supports the work of America's Vet Dogs® whose mission is to help those who have served our country honorably live with dignity and independence. The service dog programs of America’s Vet Dogs® were created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to United States veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities, allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance. They also train and place service dogs for those with physical disabilities; guide dogs for individuals who are blind or have low vision; service dogs to help mitigate the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder; and facility dogs as part of the rehabilitation process in military and VA hospitals.
